Self-reflection has been a key practice in my own personal growth journey and it’s also something I often wish more people did more of.
Having grown up with trauma and navigating through various life challenges, I didn’t always have the space to reflect on my experiences in a healthy way. I often rushed through life, pushing through difficult emotions and not taking the time to truly understand myself. It wasn’t until later in life that I began to see the profound importance of self-awareness in healing and transformation.Journalling became my tool for reflection, helping me understand the layers of my own experiences, and more importantly, myself. The more I journalled, the clearer my path became, and I started to see connections between my actions, thoughts, and emotions that had previously eluded me.
Through self-reflection and journalling, I was able to uncover hidden beliefs that were holding me back and replace them with empowering ones. I began to embrace my strengths, my vulnerabilities, and everything that made me who I am. It was through this process that I was able to transmute trauma and embrace healing.
I’ve also worked with people – I’m sure we all have – who I’m sure thought of themselves as good people who cared about others, but whose own trauma had such a grip on them that they were almost impossible to deal with.
